PROJECT WOLF HUNTING (2022)
12/22/22 - Project Wolf Hunting (2022) - 6/10
This Korean splatter action is an intense and unrelenting smash of a your face against the wall. Not splashed or sprayed but entirely and completely soaked through the bone with blood this one could easily be too much for some. Revolving around a mysterious sublot under the surface of a dangerously violent prisoner transport operation, from minute one until the last scene does it go extremely hard. It is heinously savage, with anybody and most everybody on the precipice of wanton wickedness at diabolical devastation.
The plot is minimal yet still contains multitudinous unspoken relationships and counterplots. It is direct almost to its detriment, but the brutality and nonstop intensity either carries you through or leaves you looking for the exit in the first 10 minutes. I respected its ferocity and its freight train of fighting, especially when the “wolf” element gets introduced. When it comes it's like Weapon X Logan meets Terminator let loose on a prison boat. Eschewing popular battle choreography & character driven martial arts quarrels, it just goes for quick'n very-dirty murders. It’s a wild ride of crimson carnage.
For the action-horror hound who is searching for the most fake blood used per second and is ready to invest in a probable franchise that will be an explicit & garish goremageddon, this is the film to punch through your chest.
