12/29/24 - Memoir of a Snail (2024) - 7-/10

Absolutely charming and ultra skilled. Marrying whimsy with brutally depressing material as they molded childlike fancy around this adult core, emotionally and compositionally, was a real feat. The claymation is so vibrant while flitting around dour emotions and color palette. It still finds a way to smile despite the pain at its core. 

It feels like a film that would struggle not to be enjoyed.
