SIXTY MINUTES (2024)

August 25, 2024 by Jacob Nelson in 2024, 5, ACTION, FOREIGN, S

1/20/24 - Sixty Minutes (2024) - 4+/5-/10

A ticking clock actioner that has some solid pulsing action punctuation, but lacks on the whole. The story is pretty bare bones and just stokes the fire for propulsion to the next fight stage. The film does a decent job of highlighting more of a strict boxing/MMA version of street brawling, but it can’t rely on that steam throughout the ride. Thankfully, it doesn’t have long to go. I enjoyed it well enough, except for the trope filled “weakling boss stands his own for the finale” battle, but it scratches the itch that it intends to.
