DOGS DON'T WEAR PANTS (2019)
9/22/20 - Dogs Don’t Wear Pants (2019) - 7-/10
Fascinatingly dark while simultaneously hopeful, like the bright silvery sliver of a moon in an everlasting Finnish night. It teeters on the edge of psychological damage, unhealthy obsession and suicidal extremes, but at its core is also an uplifting vision of multitudinous love. Nothing about it is easy to sit through nor easily explained, but there are beautiful moments of palatable pain and tangible tenderness communicated often without a word, just in gasping glances and engrossing eyes.
It was streamlined and powerful. Colorful and intense. Subtly acted with a devastating devotion. A fervent example of passion further on the edges, like Secretary or Crash (1996). Experimenting with it yourself is certainly worth your time and experience.
