An ok documentary about the horror genre and its relationship to people's needs/experiences. Interesting in its historical & cultural explorations, if not a tad basic. Where the film lacks is its necessity to put the filmmaker front and center at all times, focusing on his journey as a horror geek and how it relates to the genre as a whole. Unfortunately, his experience did not add to but only subtracted from my engagement with the film. Became a sticking point as it progressed.

A decent "horror history" for Halloween times, but a so-so at best doc in general.
