TRIANGLE OF SADNESS (2022)

12/27/22 - Triangle of Sadness - 6-/10

Disappointingly my least favorite and least impressive Ostlund film that I have seen (Force Majeure and The Square being the others). Perhaps it was too built up for me, or I was expecting more humor or depth, but it felt too surface and too churlish. I didn’t hate it or find it in-appreciable as I still enjoyed it while it prods at the underbelly of the social structure with gruesomeness and discomfort the way I expected. I just hoped for more outright levity than the blood from a stone histrionic humor we pick out of the vomit and sandy crumbs.
