7/11/17 - King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (2017) - 3+/10

Let's blend Robin Hood (Costner and Crowe), Lord of the Rings, action video game cut-scene openings and slap an Arthurian label on it. Voila! And if after reading that little description the voice in your head did not shout “I NEED TO SEE THAT!”, I might suggest skipping out all together. This is a hyper smorgasbord of flash and unnecessary that will leave you saying…”meh”.

So much like a video game (editing, special effects, overly visually verbose concoctions, close extreme 3rd person shots, insane god mode fights, final boss battle) or a live action anime. The number of slow-mo screams is laughable. Doesn't kill all enjoyment. There is fun stuff there, but it feels both too light and too strangely over-story-wrought. Like a psilocybin coke jam, this is a too fast paced crazy medieval dream that shook my eyes, but pulled not a single mental or emotional string.

Note: During the climax I couldn’t get the interplay between Nicholson’s Joker and Keaton’s Batman out of my head..."I mean, I say "I made you" you gotta say "you made me." I mean, how childish can you get?”
